uCAREER – “Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation”

 The project uCAREER - "Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation is financed by the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv within the " 2023 Public Diplomacy Small Grants - EDUCATION Program." 

 

The goal of the uCAREER project is to establish an innovative employer-oriented certificate programs for the workforce development that prepare creative and competent engineering graduates in the area of Mechanical Engineering relevant to the priorities of the Ukraine's State Target Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry for 2021-2030. Within this project, the primary focus will be on development of innovative courses and a handbook in Composite Materials.

Project duration: 01.11.2023 – 31.10.2024

Project objectives

  1. Development and approval of the Certificate Program "Manufacturing Engineering from Progresstech-Ukraine". Enrollment students in 2024.
  2. Improvement of the Certificate Program "Aircraft construction. Progresstech-Ukraine”, enrollment 10 students in 2024.
  3. Development of 3 blended learning courses in Composite Materials.
  4. Development of the Handbook in Ukrainian “Composite materials in the aviation industry”. 
  5. Participation of KPI students in the ASC Competition on-line.
  6. Exchange of knowledge during project events. Sharing best practices in creation of employer-oriented certificate programs and blended learning courses with colleagues from other departments and universities.

Expected outcomes:

  1. Having graduates that can successfully apply knowledge in composite materials and other courses of Certificate Programs at aviation companies they will work in.
  2. An increase of the employment level in the aviation industry.
  3. Improvement upon offered courses related to Composite Materials topics at Igor Sikorsky KPI and other universities, as well as triggering more research on these topics.
  4. Strengthening further cooperation between partner institutions with long-term perspective of writing joint applications and publications.
  5. Increase the level of internationalization of engineering education. Integration of Ukrainian students and academic staff into the international scientific community
